Sustainable Redwood hosts the 6th annual Earth Day celebration

Earth Day Event April 23rd,

Sustainable Redwood will be hosting the 6th annual Earth Day celebration in partnership with RMCA and the Townsite on Saturday, April 23rd from noon-4pm.

Join us for a pre-Earth Day screening of the film “Cowspiracy” at 7pm on April 22nd at Redwood House.  Admission is by donation.  Snacks, wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Sustainable Redwood will be collecting hosting a household goods collection to support Project PAL (Prevent A Litter), a local volunteer-driven non-profit organization dedicated to preventing overpopulation of stray pets, preventing predation and suffereing, and keeping them safe and housed in homes if possible.  They provide medical assistance and pet food to families in difficult situations to help them keep their pets, preventing them from ending up in already overcrowded shelters.  Project PAL will accept donations of clothing, belts, purses, footwear, luggage, stuffed toys, bedding and linens – items can be torn, have broken zippers, missing buttons etc, because anything that cannot be sent to second hand stores is sold to Goods Trading Services to be turned into recycled material in the Phillipines.

A collection depot will be open in the foyer of Redwood House from April 18th to April 22nd.  If you would like to bring in donations, please ensure they are bagged or boxed well to ensure the depot stays organized.  Donations will also be accepted between noon and 4pm during the Earth Day event in the north parking lot of Redwood House.

Sustainable is also looking for volunteers to help facilitate upcycled crafts and act as door greeters – great volunteer opportunities for young people 12 and up!  Email for more info

Thank you  Sustainable Redwood
