COUNCIL UPDATE On March 1st, 2017,
Tsuut’ina Chief Lee Crowchild, Councillor Lyle Dodginghorse and Lands Administrator Jim Two Guns visited with Council to signal the importance of the relationship between Tsuut’ina and Redwood Meadows. The visit allowed for introductions and covered a variety of topics, including the lease, relationship building opportunities and shared concerns such as Springbank Dam. Council would like to express its gratitude for the visit and looks forward to continue to strengthen the relationships between the Nation and Redwood Meadows.
FINANCE Council has approved a balanced operating budget for the 2017 fiscal year. The Finance committee and Townsite staff are working on finalizing a capital budget, both for the current year and a 5-year period.
COMMUNITY LEASE CAFÉ A Lease Café has been scheduled for Monday, March 6, 2017, starting at 7pm. All residents are welcome to attend to receive the latest updates from Council regarding the lease. We hope to be able to provide you with updates resulting from a meeting scheduled with Tsuut’ina on February 23, 2017.
COMMUNITY SAFETY Over the past period, a number of disturbances have been reported to the Townsite office. Council is actively working on creating programs that will aid in increasing public safety.
COUNCIL MEETINGS Town Council currently meets every Tuesday night. The first and third Tuesdays are designated regular council meetings and are open to the public. The February meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, at 7 pm and Tuesday, March 21, at 7pm. All residents are welcome to attend.
